Commercial invoice or pro forma

An importer bringing goods in from outside the European Union must make sure the supplier issues a Commercial Invoice. Without this document, clearing the goods isn't possible.

Specification or packing list

The packing list, also known as the goods specification, is one of the key import documents for goods from outside the EU. It sets out details of the products loaded onto a given means of transport.

Transport document (CMR)

The CMR Convention is an international agreement on the carriage of goods by road, used in commercial international transport where at least one country (of dispatch or destination) has signed up to the convention. It covers carriage by lorries, articulated vehicles, semi-trailers and trailers.
